[Update 10/28: Random.org gave me comment number 5, so our lucky winner is... rhonda! Congratulations, Rhonda, and good luck to everyone else next time.]
It's time for another cookbook giveaway on DadCooksDinner! I was lucky enough to get into one of Michael Symon's cooking classes before they sold out for the year. It was his Greek cooking class, and I had a great time.
*I'll have more to say about the class next week.
As part of the class I got a signed copy of his book, Live to Cook. I already have a copy, so I'm giving this one away.
To win this cookbook, leave a comment in this post. Your topic is: what was your favorite restaurant meal?
I will randomly pick a winner from the comments left by Sunday, March 28th, at 10PM Eastern Standard Time. I'll announce the winner in my post on Monday the 29th.
To get everyone started, I'll go first:
Top five restaurant meals, in no particular order:
Braised Short Ribs at Lola Bistro in Cleveland, OH
Zuni Roast Chicken with Bread Salad at Zuni Cafe in San Francisco, CA
Grilled Ribeye en Adobo at Frontera Grill in Chicago, IL
Choucroute Garnie at Brasserie Flo in Paris, France
So, what are your favorites? Leave them in the comments. Good luck, everyone!

My favorite restaurant meal is the cheese pizza at this amazing restaurant near my home. The crust is so chewy and delicious; sadly, I can't eat there anymore because I was diagnosed with celiac disease, but I have gotten decently good at adapting regular recipes at home!
Thanks for having this giveaway 🙂

The fabulous meal at the Madrona Manor in Healsburg, CA. From start to finish....Beets for starter, done three ways, one was a granita that was amazing.
Then, Seared Hokkaido Scallops with
kabocha pumpkin, melted leeks, and malt vinegar.
Finished with their Cart "a Glace" which was an
Ice Cream Sundae, hand ‘churned’ tableside
using minus 320ºF nitrogen, chocolate sauce, almonds, whipped cream, cherries on top . I dream about it!!!

We caught a late train to the South of London, it was Guildford, England. We were tired and a bit disoriented from the long flight from Chicago. There was an Indian restaurant that was still open and the waiter took pity on us. Between the waiter and the chef - my husband and I ate for the next 2 hours. The beer flowed, the food burned as well as food can and my God was it good! Wish I could remember the name of the restaurant.

Fried whole belly clams from JT's Seafood, Brewster Ma
Oysters from Scargo Cafe, The Oyster Company, Joe's Beach Road Bar and Grill or any other seafood place on the Cape

hmmm....decisions, decisions!
I will try to narrow it down as best I can...
First off, pretty much anything at the South Indian place near me, Madras Woodlands (New Hyde Park, NY) is great. My favs right now are chana bhatura, rava onion dosa, and palak paneer
Next, the best simple but amazing was braised beef short ribs with fried polenta...um...fries? fingers? I dunno the exact term, but they were delicious.
Lastly is the "Mona Roll" at my local Japanese place. Tuna, salmon, and yellow tail (my 3 favs for sushi) with avocado (who doesnt love avocado?!) rolled in a thin layer of cucumber...with no rice. I know its not sushi without rice, but I dont care, it is that good!

The waitstaff at Mallorca, W. 9th street, downtown Cleveland - DELISH! (Oh yeah, and the food was really good, too!)

Chili Rellenos at Luchitas in Cleveland. BBQ Shrimp at Mr. B's in New Orleans. Roast Beef Po-Boy at Johnny's Po-Boy in New Orleans. Dark Chocolate Jalapeno Ice Cream at Janos’ Restaurant in Tucson. Cassoulet at restaurant in Montpeyroux, France.
Ross says
Duck and Porcini Ragu, Ribeye from an Ox, a green salad and lots of good, cheap wine at a little place outside Florence - Casa del Prosciutto.
Not the best, certainly not the fanciest, but definitely my favourite.

I would love to win this book...
My favorite depends on what I am in the mood for. I have favorite experiences (Eifel Tower), or favorite ethnic (Zorba's in Chicago for Greek food (long gone, that was in the 70's)...
But my real favorite that I eat over and over is wings and pizza at Barley's brewhouse in suburban Kansas City. (maybe the beer helps the fond memories... is there such a thing as beer goggles when it comes to food memories???

My favorite restaurant meal is deep fried shrimp and fries with cocktail sauce. That always does it for me. Yum
