      I wonder if you could accelerate cooking times by coring the pineapple. The idea being that the hollow space inside would allow heat to cook it from both the inside and the outside.

        I think it would get wobbly on the spit. That said, I'm cooking to that long to caramelize it. You can always pull it off sooner with less browning on the outside
